As we approach this very important time in our nation I am inviting you to join me and the rest of our church family in “7 Days of prayer and fasting”. We will start Sunday October 25th and will finish October 31st. Below is a guide to help you join us as we seek the Lord together in preparation for this time.
We have two objectives through this time:
Contend for peace. During this crucial time in our nation of recovery and election, it’s never been more vital to call out to God in prayer for His peace on earth. We will be praying for the 7 pillars of influence in our nation, that God would reign over them all.
Align our hearts. Fasting allows us to set aside some things so we can align our hearts. As we set aside busyness and distractions in order to seek God, it helps our hearts be aligned with His heart.
Here are the steps you can take with us:
Join us in a daily prayer focus – We will publish a daily prayer guide that will allow you join with us. Watch for a daily prayer led by one of our leaders in your email or on social media.
Pray at 7:00 – we are asking everyone to pray at either 7 am or pm – so that morning and evening we are united in prayer. So after you watch the devotion take some time to pray – whether you at home alone or with someone else, you will actually be joining with many others!!
Fast with us. You can fast in one or all of these ways:
Fast from a substance. You can fast from all food or something you eat or drink on a regular basis.
Fast from a source of entertainment. Turn off the radio in the car, the T.V. or your favorite device; then take some extra time each day to draw near to God in prayer.
Fast from an expense. Identify something you spend money on regularly (Starbucks, eating out for lunch) and then take that money and ask God how He would have you bless someone else.
Join us in prayer via Zoom. On Saturday, October 31st at 9:00 AM, we will join together as a church in prayer via Zoom. A link will be sent later this week.
Praying with you and for you,
Pastor Abe Pfeifer
